Herndon Town Council approves Special Tax District for Dulles Metro Funding

An article in the Washington Examiner website “Herndon Council Gives nod to Tax District” by William C. Flook, announced to the world the positive move for Dulles Metro Phase 2 funding.  The funding is essential for the 3 stations to be built in the Western part of Fairfax county.  There was no resistance as the council voted 7-0 to approve the new tax district.

Construction of the metro, phase 1, is already under way.  Many are very excited that the metro is coming.  However each phase, there are 2 total, is a huge undertaking.  Phase 2 in itself has not yet started, and will not until phase 1 is completed or very near completion.  However, this approval by ther Herndon Town Concil is a necessary step in the right direction to fund the project well past Tysons Corner.
